ODDELLOWS ANNIVERSARY.

Wednesday 5 May 1880

The Loyal Havelock Lodge will hold their anniversary on Whit Monday. The members will meet at the Britannia Inn, New Headington, at half past nine, and, after partaking of lunch, will proceed to the village church, headed by the splendid banner of the district, and the Headington brass band, returning to the Britannia for dinner, and afterwards parading the village. The remainder of the day will be spent in dancing, and various amusements.

CLUB FESTIVAL AT CHESTERTON

Monday 24 May 1880

... The morning was not bright, and fears were entertained that the dull weather would interfere with the principal holiday of the Chestertonians. ... The members met at the Reading-room, and, headed by the Headington Brass Band, proceeded to the parish church for public worship.

HEADINGTON JUVENILE BRASS BAND

Saturday 3 July 1880

The annual excursion of the Headington juvenile brass band will take place on July 22nd Nuneham has been fixed upon and those who intend to go will be taken by water by the Nelson House boat, under the supervision of the bandmaster.

HEADINGTON JUVENILE BRASS BAND

Saturday 25 September 1880

This band held their annual supper on Saturday evening at the "Prince of Wales," Charles Street, Iffley-road. The members marched from Headington, through Cowley, to the above inn, where a capital spread awaited them A few friends in the musical line were included in the company at the table. The cloth being removed, some capital songs were sung, and a pleasant evening spent.
